our story...

As an extension of In School Spirit, LLC, we are a 501C 3 nonprofit foundation which was inspired by a group of concerned members of the community, who were invested, passionate and were looking for unique ways to engage like minded individuals. Our goal was to identify and to minimize some of the factors which were plaguing the perceptions of the value of education by increasing the accountability of the members of the community.

vision

The vision for this organization is to innovatively reach the community in ways that allow individuals to give and to receive inspiration that will restore the core values geared towards education and community cohesiveness.

 mission

The mission for Community Empowerment Foundation is to educate, advocate, and empower. We believe that effective and positive change can only be maintained by those who want and need it, which means they must be included in the process. Therefore, our strategy is to provide platforms where we educate one another, advocate for one another and empower one another.

our platforms:

Our efforts are geared towards best practices that encourage individuals to be EDUCATED and informed about the relevant issues. We ADVOCATE for and with community members who are seeking resolution and solutions. We also support individuals with methods of how to advocate for themselves. We strive to EMPOWER those who we come in contact with, which means that we are not building relationships which create dependency but we are increasing community accountability by fostering individuals who can continue the work that we've started.
We create spaces for dialogue and support to take place in communities that need hands on guidance and face-to-face interactions. Through our strategy we are able to support schools and organizations both internally (on campus) and externally (beyond school walls) in order for continued support to be maximized and to allow for the special, additional attention which many people need to ensure successful steps towards change and improvement. We believe that creating the space to engage in the conversation for change is only the beginning. However, maintaining these places inspires a community cultivate leaders who will commit to doing the work and increase accountability.

our community programs:

Our clinics have successfully provided workshops to parents and students who are seeking support in the areas of  college prep and future planning. The mobility of our workshops allow for us to create the necessary places and spaces for information to be shared at the convenience of those who need it and in the manner in which they would like to receive it.  Imagine you are a single parent who works full time and you are trying to prepare your child for college...Our clinic would ensure that we would design a workshop that would answer your specific questions and walk you through the process at a location convenient to you.   Learn more

Education Advocacy Awareness was designed to be the continuation of what the clinics initiated. We dedicated an entire month to giving parents and students the platform, tools and resources to be empowered and advocate for what is important to them and to implement their own change in the educational systems. Believing that change begins with a conversation, our first year was dedicated to creating the spaces and places for communities to have the conversations about their concerns with their schools. From there, we continued to develop training and workshops for advocacy in order to support parents and students who wanted to not only see change but make change in their school systems.  Learn more.

Community Empowerment Foundation thrives on supporting other organizations and partnering with those who are aligned with our mission. People for P.A.L. was a program that was created to identify individuals in the community who had an understanding and a passion for National Police Athletic League. We support the work that this organization does nationally, through their programs by encouraging participation in the communities where P.A.L. is greatly present, as well as encouraging the community to become more involved and aware about what the program was initially designed for and how it can help serve those who are in need of additional support and resources. As P.A.L. is a nonprofit, we support this nonprofit by soliciting volunteers to come out a participate in the positive events and to spread the word about the fond memories that people have about the P.A.L. program in order to shed positive light to this organization and to keep it alive and active.
